The official website of the Japanese rock band the GazettE announced on Tuesday that their bassist Reita passed away on Monday. There will be a memorial service for close relatives.

the GazettE (formerly known as Gazette) debuted in 2002 with vocalist Ruki, bassist Reita, and lead guitarist Uruha. Uruha and Ruki are the current members along with guitarist Aoi and drummer Kai. Reita was a current member until his passing.

The band composed, arranged, and performed the theme song “SHIVER” for the Black Butler II anime television series.
